Turbocompressors

The SKF permanent magnet high speed motor on magnetic bearings sets a new standard for compact, high energy efficiency, oil-free variable speed drives for centrifugal compressors up to the megawatt. The motor and bearings are designed for a wide operation range of the centrifugal compressor including surge occurrence. Energy savings above 10% at full load and even higher part load are well achievable compared to traditional geared drive design. 

SKF can provide the complete system, i.e. the motor with magnetic bearings together with the electric control and power converter, to provide the best match with the application.
